What this service is

spotforecast.eu publishes statistical forecasts of day-ahead electricity prices for European bidding zones, over a website and a REST API.

No warranty

Forecasts are the output of a statistical model. They are provided as they are, with no warranty of accuracy, completeness, availability, or fitness for any particular purpose. Prices in electricity markets are volatile and are affected by events no model can anticipate.

You are responsible for any decision you take, and for validating the data against your own sources before relying on it.

Third-party data

Market data underlying these forecasts is published by the ENTSO-E Transparency Platform. ENTSO-E disclaims all liability for the accuracy of that data, and we disclaim it in turn. We are not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by ENTSO-E. Weather data is from Open-Meteo.com under CC BY 4.0 and is modified for use as model input.

Acceptable use

• Keep your API key secret. You are responsible for requests made with it.
• Do not attempt to circumvent rate limits, including by registering multiple accounts for that purpose.
• Do not resell or redistribute the forecasts as a bulk dataset. Using them inside your own product or home automation is fine and is what the API is for.

Availability and changes

The service is early and is provided free of charge until further notice. We may change, suspend or withdraw it. If we introduce charges, we will say so with reasonable notice before anything you have built stops working.

We may also update these terms. The version on this page is always the one that applies, and the date above says when it last changed. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from use of, or inability to use, this service - including lost profit, lost savings, or costs incurred acting on a forecast.
